to be quiet or not to be....... that is a question?

left the office looking for extra batt. for the camera. didn't know that electronic dept. store can be so arrogant and so unwilling or just don't know their stuffs.
caught up with a few friends on friday but had to leave early to get ready for a shoot the next day.
shoot was ok, it's just that alot of prep. had gone into it and the shoot was only about 15-20 mins. all the packing, setting up and setting down to pack again takes alot of time. had a hard time getting a cab on saturday, but luckly got a ride home to be safe and fed.
this picture here was taken in saigon. it's a pretty decent hotel and a wedding reception almost every night and day! i must say, their weddings there are alot more fun than the ones in singapore hotels, i must say. and they all look happy and jolly.
met up with a friend of mine yesterday and was pretty upset what i had learnt from her. but anyways, it's always good to catch up and have our stories. also talked a great deal about cambodia. it's like, looking at the country, we feel we can help them do so much, but also, so little that we can do. beautiful place and great shots from (why why) . i really love those shots. you got to get yourself a camera girl.
made myself a really nice sandwhich...... ofcourse bread, mayo, mussles and seaweeds..... cool!!!! with a can of root beer at 1.30 in the morning. planning to go ubin when i was just coming home last night. i don't know, maybe sat morning would be a good idea. get there really early in the morning. get our wheels, (bicycle) to get around the island to take pictures. i don't know, will see.

jim davis got it!

coming out from the rain

woke up early in the morning and start doing some laundry. missed the night out session on friday. was sooo tired, i think, it must be the pressures of the week and the day that made me decide to head home instead of meeting up with the rest of my buddies. see you guys soon!!!!!

went through some e-mails and yada yada yada....... i decided to check out the uniquely singapore page on the photo submissions. only one of my photos made it to the selection. mine did not make the cut cause maybe it was seen as a bad influence or whatever. personally, the picture was thought of when a group of my friends were sitting down over a few drinks and talking about it. frankly i liked the idea and did not sit on it. i went to a few tattoo parlours and most of them turned my idea down cause i wanna shoot them doing the tattoo and they didn't like the idea of a photographer shooting their shop.

but anyways, i guess you got the picture rite..... all the shops snubbed me out actually, until my local friend who was in denmark told me about this other contact. i called and we had about 10 mins of meeting and it was agreed!

told my friends that i have actually nailed a tattoo shop and we got exicited. and i think the rest was history. i mean, all this started out with only some crap talking over a few drinks and we made it possible. and everyone sort of helped me. it was that sense of giving and helping out with much care and love i guess. all i'm saying is that, how can this picture be a bad influence? really...... it was thought of over decently. radical? isn't that creatively thinking? so much about preaching about having to think creatively. anyways, i'm movin on here to other things right now. shot the picture on your left yesterday when it was raining and thus the title, coming out of the rain. a song that i have not heard for the longest time.

another week to come and a long long weekend reward!!!!!! gong xi fa cai!!!!! the picture below was taken around my estate... it's the smallest chinatown in singapore.

anways, haven't really sort out the pictures from vietnam. been very busy with doubleyou. met up with the rest and i have to say, it's very nice to be with friends when u grow older. yes, older and hopefully wiser. been having mix feeling with something but i don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing. went to the "roof" above mode's living building. nice atmosphere and damn it was raining when we got there. it would have been nice, really. nice place to chill. don't know what sort of crowd the place attrack come friday nite.
met with the guys last night. it's a double wham bam, it's krista's birthday too to begin with and we all met up at lau pa sat for some local delights. new danish girlfriend came along and was soon felt the heat from the night. saw evett for the first time in a long time. was dinnering when i saw sam with her friends dinnering too. went up to her and i have to say that her friends were not too pleased with me saying "hi"......
after some good food we left for some more bevys and laffs. took alot of pictures with kat and dickson. they were complaining about work, well... not exactly complaining, but just drag the idea about coming into the office on sat and sunday. dickson gave me the most awful shooter drink i have ever downed in my life. dickson, pls don't give me that drink ever, ever, ever! petrina threw up the min she downed it. poor girl but she looked alright after the singapore merlion impersonation. heeeeeeeeeee. the rest were all just happy. i don't know.... somethings really missing and i don't know what is it.

yo dj, spin dat wheel. who says that anymore!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

obviously no one would say that anymore. had fun last night at the one of those small bars along circular rd. had friends come over to that very new hangout of ours. can't believe it, the owner of the place lets us play whatever music we that we want. as you would have guessed, all the cheesy 80's came alive and with the whole lot of us singing along too. i soon forgot that i was actually feeling sick after my vietnam trip...... nah, nothing serious!

doubleyou, is somehow very quiet! a place where you can concentrate and do some serious work actually. people are generally ok.... but painfully very quiet.

meeting up with malcom later to get some pictures from vietnam. compiling the pictures before we meet up at krista's place for some chill out session laff out session.

this picture was shot at BLACK EMPEROR. the very kind guys who let me use the space to shoot!

good morning vietnam

vietnam suprise as i would call it. it's everything i have imagined it. busy streets and chaotic traffic with alot of honking. it's like, the vehicles are talking to one and another to warn or just to shoo off passing on bikes.

pho bor is fantastic here. good soup base noodles. did alot of charades here to communicate with the locals. generally it always ends with a smile or no no... me don't want! crossing the road takes alot of balls here. the easiest way to cross the road is just to walk across without looking. if you look, be prepaired!

lots of things to see here. even the simplest thing like sitting on the side pavements can be quite thrilling for me. the girls here are generally very pretty looking and you can see them anywhere. you don't have to be at the right place and the right time to meet. everytime is a good time. just smile and you'd be suprise, unlike in singapore. siowwww ahhh!

made some friends with the kids on the roads who were making a living out of it. they speak better english with an american accent too. alot of book vendors on the streets. books about vietnam, lonley planet or vietnam war books. but all of these books are photocopied copy. but still, it's a steal.

anyways, i like where i stay and looking forward to seeing new things here. one thing i do know, there's always a wedding reception here where i'm putting up. lots of love to everyone in singapore.
